New season of archaeology talks starts
The 2026/27 programme of talks got off to a fascinating start in September with a discussion of how the understanding of Norman castles has changed over time, starting with the writing of the archaeologist Ella Armitage who had Rotherham links. As ever the programme covers a wide range of topics of both local and wider interest, and ranging from Roman and Anglo-Saxon finds to industrial and local history. All are welcome. The talks are free, though non-members are encouraged to make a small voluntary donation.
