Dramatic View of Sheffield Castle’s Well

This is a fantastic view of the well on the Castle site, which was found early on in the excavations last spring; it exists inside the motte so may predate the stone castle and be 12th or 13th century. The well with its fine stone lining is estimated to be 12m in depth.
