Fieldwalking: Past, Present … and Future?

CBA East Midlands recently held a day conference in Grantham to discuss fieldwalking – why do we do it? what does it tell us? is it becoming a thing of the past?
The conference was prompted by the recognition that much less fieldwalking is done today. Speakers shared their experiences with many case studies of how much can be learnt, particularly from a fieldwalking project over a large area. The final hour or so saw a panel discussion reviewing the evidence and concluding that fieldwalking has all sorts of benefits.
