Three sites are being removed from Heritage at Risk list

The removal of a Conservation Area, a Grade II* listed structure and a Scheduled Monument from Historic England’s ‘Heritage at Risk’ list has been welcomed by Sheffield City Council.
The photo shows Bower Spring cementation furnace, owned by the South Yorkshire Industrial History Society, undergoing conservation work earlier in 2025. Also Well Meadow Street Conservation Area includes some of the best surviving examples of small-scale steel and cutlery works, and the Rockingham kiln at Swinton has seen major repairs.
