Abbeydale Hamlet’s dam and waterwheels repaired

Restoration costing £1.3 million is just coming to an end at Abbeydale Hamlet – to prevent leaks stonework and clay linings have been repaired in the dam, which will be gradually refilled over the winter, and the rotten oak wood of buckets on both waterwheels has been replaced. Abbeydale Hamlet is one of the best preserved industrial sites in the world.
