‘Unlocking the Peak’s Past’ photo archive

The Peak District National Park Authority has received a large grant from the Archives Revealed fund to catalogue and digitise around 45,000 photos, documenting the people, places and landscape of the Peak District.
They include archaeology, craft skills and aerial photos, and will have a huge research potential for sharing stories about the cultural lanscape. The project will create volunteer opportunities to help create an online collection of 3,000 photos curated by the Derbyshire Record Office, in their image library Picture the Past.
